Phantom Practice
Ink on Korean Mulberry Paper (Hanji)
Over the past decade I have been developing Phantom Practice. Phantom Practice negotiates graphics as crafted images versus digital photography, as algorithmic images. In the early stages I created static, two - dimensional images in my mind which I did not produce physically. With these thought experiments I tried to envision what meanings the choice of material or scale might bring into effect should those images be actualised. Based on those early exercises I started to use self made organic ink to produce such pictorial pieces on Korean Mulberry Paper (Hanji).
